The Senior Research Scientist will have significant leadership and scientific responsibilities including: (1) overseeing research projects, (2) managing complex instruments (e.g., FPLCs, fluorimeters, TIRF microscopes) and training new users, (3) purifying actin from muscle tissue and chemically labeling it for the lab, (4) assisting the PI in supervising PhD students and postdocs, (5) independently designing and executing experiments, including quantitative binding assays, bulk fluorescence kinetic experiments, and in vitro single molecule imaging TIRF microscopy, (6) analyzing data independently and generating publication quality figures, (7) drafting research articles for publication, and (8) writing and editing grants. Requires combination of high level scientific skills, group management abilities, extensive lab experience in biochemistry, and wisdom in integrating complex information and take initiative in overseeing and dealing with a wide range of tasks and issues that arise in the lab.
