Salary Range: Up to $42,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

The Program Coordinator coordinates the operation of programs or projects, exercising independent judgment and authority as required. The Program Coordinator is responsible for assigned phases of programs, which may include budget decisions, program selection, staff supervision, future planning, and innovation.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Proposes, evaluates, and coordinates the implementation of programs. Researches new program ideas; proposes program design, which may include grant development and submission.
  2. Plans, schedules and coordinates activities in assigned programs and projects.
  3. Ensures program needs are met through resources planning, and tracking and coordination. Resources include talent, supplies, and facilities.
  4. Produces and distributes program materials. Coordinates marketing and communication activities for program.
  5. Interacts with university departments, special groups and external agencies to coordinate resources and communicate/market programs.
  6. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships to offer meaningful involvement opportunities and programmatic approaches which address the development and engagement of students in the Bold Scholars Program.
  7. This position requires occasional periods of non-standard work schedule to accomplish duties.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with students and/or other groups to plan and coordinate activities and programs.
  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UTSA and its infrastructure.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of all standard office equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment.
  • Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required.

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
