3D Content Designer
Location: Hybrid in Culver City, CA (T-TR onsite)
Duration: 3 months; potential to extend
Pay: up to $48.50/hour, DOE
The Planet Group is looking for a 3D Content Designer to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 3 month contract. This role will be 40 hours per week and is hybrid in Culver City, CA, working onsite Tuesday-Thursday.
The 3D Content Designer will play a pivotal role in creating visually stunning and engaging 3D assets that enhance the user experience on the platform and will work closely with designers, producers, and art directors to bring assets to life and deliver high-quality content.
3D Content Designer Responsibilities:
- Drive conceptual thinking and provide creative oversight for the development of original content
- Lead art direction and manage the execution of design-based deliverables across various media
- Communicate technical specifications and functional requirements to third-party partners to ensure accurate production
- Collaborate with copy editors to maintain consistency and alignment between visual and written content
- Design and build visually engaging Keynote presentations and decks for both internal and external use
3D Content Designer Qualifications:
- 1-4+ years relevant design or creative leadership experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Web, Graphic, Information, Communication design or equivalent
- Portfolio demonstrating perfection in delivering executed concepts and designs
- Proven experience in creating high-quality 3D models, textures, animations, and lighting using industry-standard software (Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya)
- Ability to work in various 3D styles, from photorealistic architecture to stylized video game aesthetics
- Knowledge and experience in 3D production pipelines
- Proactive, analytical thinker with excellent problem solving, communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Experience creating engaging content design visuals (e.g., Digital Content, Web, Social, Journalism etc.)
- Passion and keen awareness of visual design trends associated with the Games/Apps/Entertainment industry
- Prior experience designing with third-party IP or promotional content
- Fluency across graphic design, typography, photography, and illustration
- Experience managing external artists/vendors/agencies; including writing clear and concise creative briefs, visual communication with swipe and drafting storyboards
- Demonstrated command of visual and communication design principles
- Comfort working in a fast paced production environment while collaborating with cross functional teams
- Creative thinker who can react and implement quickly, laterally, independently or collaboratively
- Strong storytelling instincts, complemented by an insatiable curiosity to deliver nothing but the best for the user
- Strong collaborator that values the virtue of simplifying complex problems through collective efforts
- Team player ready to pick up any project, be it lengthy and complex or small and executional
