Scopely is looking for a world-class Senior Content Designer for a soon-to-be announced mobile RPG. The candidate will help build levels, characters, and events that bring the game to life and entertain players for years to come.

In this role, the Senior Content Designer will work closely with Character designers, Game Designers, PMs, and Live Ops to create an outstanding player journey and live game experiences. The ideal candidate is experienced in mobile RPG character design, combat balancing & content implementation, with excellent collaboration & communication skills.

What you will do:

• Design and balance compelling combat encounters for a mobile-first free-to-play RPG
• Work creatively with character abilities and progression systems to create a fun and engaging player experience
• Build content that meets both player experience goals and business needs
• Relentlessly playtest the game, demonstrating best practices on iterative content design
• Partner with Gameplay & Character Designers to help bring characters to life
• Contribute to the design of future gameplay improvements from concept to implementation
• Partner with PM, Production, Art, Engineering, QA & other disciplines in a team environment
• Ensure clear and concise design documentation
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

What you will need:

• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing content for free-to-play midcore games
• 5+ years of experience on live games
• Experience designing and implementing characters and encounters
• Experience iterating on ideas and working in a collaborative environment
• Empathy for both player experience goals and business needs
• Ability to work well within an international, multicultural, cross-discipline team
• Self-motivated, positive, and collaborative, with an ability to receive and provide objective, useful feedback

Bonus Points:

• Experience working on mobile RPGs
• Experience working on character and level designs within a licensed IP
• Experience working directly with in-game economies and progression systems

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for equity, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$145,000—$220,000 USD
