MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for managing both conventional (public/private hospitals, clinics) and non-conventional (small clinics, pharmacies, NGOs, CBOs, MOH projects) channels. This role is critical in driving commercial expansion and sustainable business growth for Abbott’s Rapid Diagnostics (ARDx) portfolio in Vietnam. The KAM will align activities with public health initiatives and support pre- and post-launch product strategies.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic & Operational Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to meet sales goals and expand market presence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across both conventional and non-conventional channels.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and customer needs.
  • Support the deployment of self-test and rapid diagnostic products in non-traditional settings.
  • Align with national/global health initiatives (e.g., HIV, TB, Hepatitis) to drive channel-specific growth.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and implement promotional strategies and tools.
  • Provide training and technical support to distribution partners and internal teams.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform business strategies.

Internal Systems & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Abbott’s Corporate Policies, Code of Conduct, and Anti-Corruption Policy.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports aligned with internal systems and regulatory requirements.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain professional conduct with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and manage relationships with NGOs, KOLs, and public health organizations.
  • Forecast demand and support implementation of NGO/CBO projects.

MINIMUM BACKGROUND/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Work Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years in the healthcare industry (diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals).
  • Proven experience in public health, pharmacy chains, and NGO operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify and capture new opportunities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and market forecasting.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • University degree in Biology, Pharmacy, or Medicine preferred.
