About this role

As a Senior C# .NET Software Engineer within our Grocery & Retail Domain, your work will be the face of one of the world’s leading food delivery companies, primarily for our customer-facing apps. Your main focus will be enhancing and expanding our partners’ product catalogue to drive an increase in the menu-to-basket conversion rate. In this role, you will be tasked with developing and refining scalable, high-quality software solutions that serve a diverse global market. You will be collaborating with multiple product and engineering teams around the world to help unlock new opportunities for our partners and enhance our customers’ experience.

This will include creating and improving various back-end components for company projects, utilizing technologies such as C#, .NET, GitHub CI, and AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Master the craft of writing high-quality, thoroughly tested code within a high-performing team
• Lead research and design architectural solutions in a wide ecosystem
• Take ownership of projects, mentor peers, and collaborate effectively. Introduce innovative ideas and develop robust, well-considered code
• Adhere to and help refine the team’s standards and processes. Contribute to setting these standards to ensure continuous improvement
• Pursue ongoing personal development by learning from teammates and applying this knowledge to benefit the team and enhance the applications
• Clearly communicate the technical efforts of your team to other engineering groups
• Own the responsibility for your updates from development through to their successful performance in production
• Generate and implement creative ideas to improve the applications

What will you bring to the table?

• Skills to develop and maintain robust applications using C# and modern .NET frameworks, writing clean, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Understanding of engineering principles (OOP, data structures, design patterns) and modern architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven) to build scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Demonstrable software architecture skills by navigating complex projects, conducting research, and creating Architectural Decision Records.
• Ability to esign, build, and consume RESTful APIs with a focus on performance and security.
• Proficient interaction with both relational and NoSQL databases, with experience in query optimisation and working with established data models.
• Experience implementing comprehensive testing strategies, including unit, integration, and system tests, to ensure application quality and robustness.
• Ability to contribute to our DevOps culture with hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions.
