Job Description
Your Role as a Business Analyst
As a Business Analyst, you'll play a vital role in shaping how our software delivers real-world business value. You’ll partner with customers and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to:
- Understand business goals and define solution requirements.
- Help customers navigate what our products can do — and how to use them effectively.
- Ensure that the final solution aligns with both customer needs and Guidewire standards.
This is a high-impact role with real responsibility. Projects vary widely — from full implementations of core systems and portals to upgrades, data migrations, and reporting solutions. Over time, you'll have the opportunity to specialize in different project types, regions, or lines of insurance.
What You’ll Do
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
- Work closely with senior BAs or directly with customers to understand objectives and align solutions accordingly.
- Demonstrate product functionality and advise customers on optimal use of Guidewire technology.
- Monitor implementation to ensure the configured solution meets agreed requirements.
- Support standardized solution delivery and ensure value is fully realized.
- Build trusted relationships with customers and internal teams, acting as a credible advisor.
- Lead requirement-gathering meetings and mentor team members on product capabilities.
- Adapt to an evolving role that grows alongside our solution offerings.
- Be available for essential customer travel when required.
What you bring
Core Skills & Experience
- Languages: Fluent business English required; additional languages (e.g., Chinese, Japanese) are a plus.
- Domain Knowledge: Experience in insurance or financial services preferred, especially in P&C, underwriting, claims, or broker processes.
- Project Implementation: Exposure to large-scale software implementation or IT consulting projects.
- Documentation & Analysis: Ability to create process flows, user stories, and translate business needs into clear specifications.
- Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving under guidance from senior team members.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail in documentation and follow-through.
- Communication: Able to engage confidently with stakeholders and support a clear understanding across teams.
- Team Collaboration: Willingness to learn from and contribute to cross-functional teams.
- Stakeholder Management: Capable of influencing senior stakeholders and driving buy-in.
- Agile Mindset: Familiarity with Agile approaches and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence is a plus.
Preferred But Not Required
- Prior experience as a business analyst in an insurance or consulting setting.
- Experience with insurance carriers or technology implementation partners.
- Knowledge or training in Design Thinking principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or related field.
- 4–6 years’ experience in technology or insurance roles.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery and business analysis practices.
- Confidence working across both technical and non-technical teams.
