Introduction

The IT Change Management Coordinator at NextEra Energy is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting IT change management processes. This role ensures that changes to IT services and infrastructure are smoothly and successfully implemented, minimizing any negative impact on service quality. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with the NERC CIP-010 standards related to cybersecurity baseline management.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

Change Request Management:

Review and process change requests submitted by various teams, ensuring they meet the required standards and policies.

  • Risk and Impact Assessment:

Evaluate the potential risks and impacts of proposed changes, collaborating with stakeholders to mitigate any negative effects.

  • Change Advisory Board (CAB):

Schedule, prepare, and facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, ensuring all changes are reviewed and approved by the necessary parties.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of change management activities and provide regular reports on change metrics and KPIs.

  • Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of baseline configurations, changes, and compliance activities.

  • Training and Communication:

Educate employees on the change management process and communicate changes effectively across the organization.

  • Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive implementation of best practices in change management.

  • Knowledge:

Basic technical knowledge understanding infrastructure components and how they connect to provide an IT Service.

  • Compliance Monitoring:

Regularly monitor and compare the actual configurations against the established baselines to ensure compliance with CIP-010 standards.

Qualifications

  • Education:

Achieved or working towards Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Required technical and professional expertise

Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in IT change management, including direct experience coordinating changes in a large, complex environment.

  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and frameworks (e.g., ITIL). Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess risks and impacts and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in ITSM software (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
