Job Description

The VP of SEO will be a lightning rod of change to instill a performance mindset and achieve business success.

The VP of SEO will directly oversee SEO as the foremost channel expert while collaborating closely with experts from the day-to-day SEM and Affiliate teams to provide a holistic strategy.

This high-impact role will also be able to coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, including oversight on career planning and resource planning. Additionally, this individual should be able to create strong partnerships with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

25% - Leadership

  • Acts as the main thought leader, creating and actively pushing a comprehensive data-led strategy that addresses client needs and determining investment allocation strategy across SEM, SEO, and affiliate investment teams.
  • Operate as a connective tissue with internal stakeholder capabilities to ensure that all relevant teams are aware of media investment details and have a central point of contact to represent the broader
  • Identify business growth potentials and create business development plans

25% - Relationship Development

  • Lead applicable Client relationship(s) on behalf of Search, affiliate, and SEO teams
  • Articulate performance recommendations and vision against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Establish senior-level relationships with key client decision-makers and have a finger on the pulse on account and relationship health
  • Develop an over-arching QBR story for senior leadership
  • Assist in new business engagement

25% - Strategic Thinking & SME

  • Evaluate merging technologies, and elevate strategies and tactical approaches as performance media landscape evolves

25% - Supervision & Team Building

  • Motivate and inspire a cross-section of team members from junior analysts through Directors to drive continual performance improvements in client business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • 10+ years’ experience directly related to Search Engine Marketing (Google, Yahoo!, Bing, etc.) with a focus on direct response campaigns (CPA, CPL, ROI, ROAS.)
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to articulate clearly and effectively over the phone, through email, and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong command / expertise in managing bid optimization platforms (DART Search, Kenshoo, Marin.)
  • Advanced MS Excel fluency required (pivot tables, charts, vlookup, sumifs.)
  • Experience in leveraging site analytics programs for SEM analysis / insights (Google Analytics, Omniture, CoreMetrics.)

Salary Range

$195,000.00 - $235,000.00

A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual’s skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.
