We have been asked by a Manufacturing client in Westfield, IN to help them find a Shipping Material Handler. In this role, you will be responsible for handling, moving, and preparing materials for shipment using powered industrial equipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Pay, Hours, and Benefits
- Hourly Pay: $18 – $20, depending on experience
- Shift: 1st Shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Benefits: Competitive benefits package available (details provided during interview)
What will you do as a Shipping Material Handler?
- Operate stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts to move materials
- Use RF scanners and computers for inventory and shipping tasks
- Load and unload shipments accurately and safely
- Prepare materials for shipping and ensure proper labeling
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required protective gear
What qualifications will you have as a Shipping Material Handler?
- Experience in a shipping or warehouse environment (required)
- Ability to pass a BAFTE background check for handling pyrotechnics
- Proficient in operating both stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts
- Skilled in using RF scanners and computers
- Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs constantly, 60 lbs occasionally, and team lifting heavier items
- Able to work in environments with dust, noise, and varying temperatures
- Comfortable wearing high-visibility outerwear and toe protection
