Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for a Project Controls Director to join our Project Controls Team in the Houston, TX area. The Project Controls Director is responsible for managing all project controls activities, efforts, and personnel across all construction projects within Turner Industries' Western Region. This role ensures the delivery of defined project outputs on time, within budget, and with quality results, by planning, organizing, monitoring, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. The Director will work closely with all departments to guide efforts toward achieving intended business results and will report directly to the Vice President of Construction. This role demands a strong understanding of foundational estimating principles and the integration of these principles throughout the project lifecycle.

Define project goals in alignment with executive leadership and communicate a clear vision to teams; represent the organization in internal/external meetings and industry groups (e.g., AACE, PMI, CII); drive continuous improvement of project controls standards, integrating lessons learned and industry best practices; stay current on trends, tools, and methodologies in estimating and project controls; lead and mentor regional project controls teams, guiding performance, integration, and deliverables; assist in team selection and provide input on performance evaluations in a matrix environment; promote knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team; ensure accurate project planning and estimating, linking scope, costs, and schedules; oversee estimate development and validate alignment between estimating and control systems; manage change by reassessing scope, budget, and timeline based on evolving project conditions; direct financial oversight including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and variance analysis; ensure accounting processes, compliance, and documentation standards are followed; present financial reports and justify budget impacts to stakeholders; lead the development, tracking, and analysis of project schedules, ensuring alignment with productivity and scope; identify critical path activities and oversee schedule adjustments as needed; guide the integration of scheduling with cost and change control processes; identify, assess, and mitigate project risks using structured tools and workshops; maintain risk registers and ensure proactive mitigation tied to initial estimates; resolve issues related to safety, quality, and client expectations; manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring transparent communication and alignment; coordinate vendor engagement, procurement, and change management to support business goals; involve subject matter experts in key decisions and reviews; define and ensure successful project closure with stakeholder buy-in and documentation; capture lessons learned and contribute to organizational knowledge bases for future project success
