Purpose & Scope:

The Sr. Manager, Field Analytics is responsible for conducting analysis and reporting to provide useful insights and recommendations to Sales, Regional Marketing, and related internal functions to support achievement of brand objectives.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Collaborate with Sales Leadership and related functions to prioritize and develop key metrics around brand objectives to support better and more informed business decisions.

  • Conduct rigorous analytics to uncover new business opportunities and insights and establish benchmarks to support the development of concrete strategic recommendations based on findings.
  • Identify, standardize, and automate integration of critical reporting metrics and modeling tools and adapt current reports and metrics to support evolving business needs and opportunities.
  • Lead and manage creation, development, implementation, and support of dashboards and applications within BI tools such as QlikSense.
  • Lead automation of routine analyses in BI tool for team and customer use.
  • Provide consultation and training on BI tools to ensure their use and effectiveness among users, both in-house and field-based.
  • Develop first-hand knowledge of the data sets and act as the Commercial expert to navigate emerging field force analytics needs and evolving landscape.
  • Ensure that the analytics offerings are continuously relevant and meet emerging business needs by performing periodical “spring cleanings.”
  • Guide customers through the interpretation of analytical outputs, collect feedback, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with other operational partners to define, develop, and maintain business rules in alignment with internal policies and business needs.
  • Identify, define and conduct ad hoc analysis as needed to support evolving business requirements and to provide timely business insights across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Manage projects to include definition of scope and requirements, achievement of timelines, budgets, and results.
  • Manage, and support analytics and reporting functions and initiatives to include field force sizing and alignment, call targeting, customer segmentation, customer valuation, promotional response modeling, promotional mix optimization, sample and program utilization, and return on investment assessments.
  • Acquire and maintain proficiency among data systems, programs, and software resources, including Microsoft Excel, and Qlikview/QlikSense, to ensure optimal and efficient achievement of department objectives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business related field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of analytical experience that includes data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of various statistical modeling techniques and their application within complex analytical projects, e.g., regression modeling, promotion response modeling, ROI, correlation coefficient, etc.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to details, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic fast paced environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability in taking initiative to proactively evaluate existing sales strategies and recommend changes, when appropriate.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills and ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic fast paced environment, with minimal direction.
  • Possess strong social skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees including senior management.
  • Extensive proficiency in creation and automation of dashboards and applications within BI tools such as QlikSense.
  • Proficient in development of critical metrics, Scorecards and Executive Dashboards
  • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical data sources, i.e., IQVIA, Symphony Health Analytics.

Preferred:

  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare experience
  • Working knowledge of one or more programming techniques such as SAS, Excel, VBA macro is a plus.
  • Some experience in people and vendor management
  • M.S. in Statistics or Economics or other quantitative field is preferred, or MBA with Marketing Analytics/Decision Science Concentration.
