Epic Applications Analyst - Senior

Job Summary:

Provides expertise and analysis to support Epic software implementation and operations. Collaborates with IT, Epic staff, and users to align EHR initiatives. Defines system scope, designs solutions, and prepares specifications. Responsible for programming, testing, debugging, documentation, and may oversee multiple projects or phases, including quality assurance.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and three (3) years of work-related experience (i.e. healthcare, clinical practice, information technology, accounting, finance, healthcare revenue cycle, clinical informatics, or Epic application build/optimization).

Certifications, Licenses, or Registration Required:

Epic certification or accreditation in at least one module (e.g. ASAP, Cadence, Willow, etc.). If not certified, must be obtained within 6 months after date of hire. Epic assessment required post-initial interview.

Preferred Qualifications:

Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMSS), or Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMMSS) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, builds, tests, implements, maintains, documents, and enhances business systems for medium to large projects, tickets, and tasks.
  • Develops and executes test plans to ensure systems are debugged and properly integrated; addresses complex technical issues and ensures smooth transitions.
  • Leads large-scale or program-level projects across multiple applications; monitors KPIs and drives performance improvements.
  • Trains users, supports training materials/environment, and mentors team members.
  • Develops and enforces policies/procedures, maintains detailed documentation, and submits timely updates including resource hours.
  • Collaborates with operational owners to design and improve workflows and business processes.
  • Plans and implements business continuity strategies.
  • Works independently with minimal guidance; takes initiative to move tasks forward.
  • Supports multiple applications; Epic certification required in relevant areas.
  • Communicates effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers; adapts in high-pressure, on-call environments with shifting priorities.
