The Manager, Information Technology Training oversees teams responsible for Information Technology and Electronic Health Record Training.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the applications in his or her area of responsibility. Participate in and coordinate upgrades, Go Live(s), mergers and acquisitions, new releases or changes to the assigned training environment
  • Manage team members’ daily tasks, keep them accountable for work, and provide frequent and yearly evaluations of staff
  • Tracks training projects, training support teams, and end user educational venues for the team and holds the team accountable to departmental SLAs
  • Understand and can describe clinical / operational / revenue processes / needs and transform them into scope and / or requirements during the development of functionality and application curriculum and process
  • Fosters strong customer relationships, modeling the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in Customer Service with proactive and positive interactions with all customers internal and external
  • Supervises leads, instructional designers and credentialed trainers responsible for day-to-day Customer Facing training support for IT training and applications, workflows, projects and issues
  • Supports network hospital and ambulatory end user Super User/ Champion program(s) Builds/maintains Training Team effectiveness through staff development/training in application competencies and related documentation to meet/exceed service levels
  • Required to participate in various organization and department Management teams, User Groups and strategic groups functioning as an integral part of the organization’s leadership team
  • Meets with organizational leadership providing IT consultation to develop and establish agreements for daily IT operations, applications and Desktop performance
  • Serves as Project leader on select projects, coordinating teams engaged in implementation and timed installation of application rollouts

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY DEMANDS:

Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal telephone conversations.

EDUCATION:

A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Degree, or equivalent work experience is required. Epic certification may be required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

5 – 7 years' experience in a Healthcare environment. 1 – 2 years of Resource or Project Management is required. IT Applications Lead experience. Additional experience in Ancillary, Clinical or revenue Applications, and HL7 is preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred. Project Management experience is a plus. MS Office is required. Experience leading Instructional Design content and curriculum for all IT supported applications/ modules (hospital, physician office, revenue cycle, business administrative) with Epic specific experience is highly preferred. Hospital Operations Knowledge / Experience: General, Radiology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physician Services, Laboratory, Patient Care Services, revenue and Patient Processing experience is preferred.
