Job Summary:

The Associate Editorial Graphics Producer (AEGP) is responsible for editorial production of on-air insert graphics for ESPN Content, including live or taped studio programming, events and productions for streaming. The AEGP collaborates with Content Producers, Coordinating Producers, Graphic Operators, Directors, Designers, Researchers and News Editors on programming such as SportsCenter, Get Up, First Take or sport-specific studio programming and events. Under the supervision and guidance of Managers and Senior Editorial Graphics Producers, the AEGP will learn to utilize the different graphic creative assets, technology platforms and support resources to produce creative and editorially sound graphics to support content for daily productions.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the accurate creation or supervising the creation of written content, visual content and statistics under tight deadlines in a live broadcast environment.
  • Shape and enhance storylines using excellent editorial judgment and clear, concise written content.
  • Understand and support the coverage of different sport categories and content types.
  • Check and proof graphics for grammar, spelling, clarity and impact under tight deadlines during live productions.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly across the production, editorial, creative and technology departments to ensure the highest levels of execution and best on-air product.
  • Responsible for executing sponsorship and promotional obligations required in each show.
  • Responsible to uphold high levels of creativity and news judgment regarding content covered.

Qualifications (required):

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in sports production with an emphasis on graphics.
  • Thorough day-to-day knowledge of sports news, information and history with the skill to produce content that is easily comprehended and digested by the viewing audience.
  • Candidate must possess proven track record of leading from their current position and driving content.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members and lead daily tasks.
  • Full availability for this position to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Elite writing and grammar skills. Must have aptitude to research and write air-ready scripts for BottomLine as well as Event and Studio productions.
  • Must be able to communicate information accurately.
  • Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines and react to breaking news.
  • Must be able to follow all Disney, ESPN and department policies and directives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience creating on-air graphics.
  • Fluency in reading, speaking and writing Spanish;
  • Working knowledge of live control room workflow.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
