The Director of Operations leads the overall Food & Beverage and Rooms Division, ensuring the smooth running of its operation in line with Hyatt corporate strategies and brand standards; while meeting colleagues, guests, and owner’s expectations. Ideal candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge, particularly in an Operations background.

The position conducts weekly functional meetings, including financial reviews with direct report leaders and is responsible to maximizes revenues and occupancy by analyzing daily status rates. They are also responsible for preparing revenue and occupancy forecasting and monitoring labor expenses through the schedule approval process. In addition, this position also coordinates major projects such as capital expenditures and equipment changes.

As a member of the property’s Leadership Team, the Director of Operations is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership. This position reports directly to the hotel General Manager. Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.

Duties include:

• Responsible for short and long-term planning and the management of the Operations in the front and heart of the house
• Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans
• Experience supervising all Operations Departments
• Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance position of property
• Experience developing standards and operating procedures.
• Special Project optimization and Food & Beverage Marketing Strategies
• Coach and counsel colleagues to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and brand standards and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Resolve customer complaints, and anticipate potential problems by reviewing and monitoring operational issues, business flow and associate performance.
• Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance position of property

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ work experience in similar capacity
• Excellent problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must
• Strong leadership skills with good command of verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail planning and effective organizational ability
• Proficient computer skills especially within the Microsoft Suite software
• Excellent customer service and entrepreneurial mindset
