Job Summary

Observe overall district energy consumption and conservation. Perform specific duties to reach the districts overall energy and conservation goals. Maintain existing energy and conservation practices while assisting in the development of new procedures to enhance the MNPS Energy vision. Act as on-call technicians for the department.

What you will do

  • Install, configure, repair and maintain HVAC control systems components. Perform detailed diagnostics to identify malfunctions and ensure system integrity; report and resolve issues promptly. Log all issues in the work order management system.
  • Performs work associated with the district’s Energy Management, Lighting and Plumbing Systems to include but not limited to: Monitoring, Reporting, Installation, Field Repair, Commissioning, Event Scheduling, and Programing.
  • Conducts behavioral based energy site audits, prepares energy reports, and meets with stakeholders to discuss results.
  • Conducts mechanical system/building based energy site audits, prepares energy reports, and meets with stakeholders to discuss results. Logs work orders for each item identified needing repair.
  • Organize, analyze, and upload utility data. Assist in maintenance of MNPS Energy Dashboard.
  • Develop knowledge, understanding, and confidence in all MNPS Energy Procedures. Provide energy and conservation training to co-workers, school faculty, support staff, students, and district leaders.
  • Assist with development of energy and conservation practices, policies, and procedures. Identify and evaluate energy and conservation opportunities. Assist in development of annual utility budgets.
  • Review new renovation/construction plans and specifications. Provide feedback to Project Managers and Engineers.
  • Collaborate with the other trade technicians to troubleshoot and resolve HVAC issues.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Associate's Degree in a related energy/science field or Vocational Training in a skilled trade Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of combined education and experience in one or more of the following trades or career paths: Energy Management, Conservation, Sustainability, Building Automation/Controls, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Computer Repair/Programing/Networking Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required
  • HVAC EPA Certification, and Tridium Niagara N4 Certification Preferred
  • Successful completion of the Honeywell N4 Controls Certification will be required within the first 2 years of employment

Equivalency

Starting At: $25.49

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
