SUMMARY

Support the ongoing development of new features, testing, documentation and service of existing functionality for Reachback Engineer Data integration (REDi) and other applications critical to the United States Army Corps of Engineers Reachback Operations Center (UROC) mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide analysis and problem resolution of communications systems, mechanisms and architectures.
  • Create data graphing tools to generate time series plots of data, including dynamic range and scale capabilities.
  • Use data from project databases to create graphical project summaries, construction status reports and other project tracking tools.
  • Conduct system-wide technical needs analysis, as well as researching, analyzing and evaluating existing systems infrastructure for performance and compliance.
  • Develop Geographic Information System (GIS) displays and analysis tools for data needed in support of military operational planning.
  • Create new site lists and document libraries needed for storing data within the SharePoint Architecture for managing new project data and attachments.
  • Review and identify gaps and variances in the design, and implementation of system components across a complex enterprise-wide architecture.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedure documentation for designs and implementation strategies of new hardware and software deployments for approval.
  • Install, configure and maintain network services and equipment to include switches, load balancers and firewalls.
  • Manage all system back-ups and restore protocols, including front-end backups.
  • Provide technical assistance and administration of servers and server clusters to include MS SQL database servers, IIS web servers, MS Active Directory servers, and other infrastructure support application servers.
  • Design, implement, and manage storage area network environments utilizing medium and enterprise level storage solutions.
  • Continue GIS development and maintenance of existing REDi SharePoint systems on the UNCLASS, CENTRIXS-K and SIPR enclaves.
  • Process, import and geocode new data feeds and other GIS-related files for the REDi Visual Fusion map.
  • Design, implement, and manage virtual server environments to include VMware Center and VMware ESXi host clustering across storage area network environments supporting application High Availability and storage multipathing.
  • Provide GIS related services to maintain, compile and update inventory of 2D and 3D data assets on the NGS Globe, the Army Geospatial Center (AGC) Globe and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Globe.
  • Update road data on the NGS, the AGC and the NGA Globes.
  • Research and compile reports on usable data for NGS Globe from various sources.
  • Use garbage collector in Google Earth Fusion to clean blocked resources.
  • Design, process, develop, integrate and modify the databases for the NetZero Installation and Energy (NZIE) Program, the Channel Portfolio Tool (CPT).
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in an applicable discipline. In lieu of degree, relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
  • Two (2) years of professional engineering and scientific experience in design, development, documentation and operation of computer systems, software and databases employing specialized database development tools for application to ERDC systems.
  • Must be able to pass successfully a NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries) background check.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a Secret clearance. (generally, U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

The expected travel time is less than 5%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 5%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a professional office setting and laboratory testing environment, including the normal office equipment (computer, fax machines, copier), laboratory equipment, and with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 20 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE

  • Pay range: $74,000 to $85,000 per year.
