The Role

Our purpose is simple, to understand our clients’ needs and use this understanding, combined knowledge, and expertise to find, process, and analyse complex datasets to inform talent acquisition teams.

The Specialist, Data Mining is responsible for ensuring the availability and quality of comprehensive data sets by identifying, collecting and processing client operational, AMS aggregate, external market data and/or other data from trusted sources.

They will deliver high-quality data by addressing inconsistencies and missing values through effective data cleaning practices.

The Specialist, Data Mining will collaborate closely with senior colleagues, I&I Partners as well as the Hub teams to understand data needs that support delivering insights.

Key Accountabilities

You’ll support our success by:

OPERATIONS

  • Data Collection - supports defining data requirements by collaborating with
  • stakeholders to clearly define the types of internal client operational data, AMS
  • aggregate data and relevant external market data needed for analysis.
  • Data Extraction – follows data extraction procedures to collect data efficiently from
  • identified sources.
  • Data Cleaning – assesses data quality on an on-going basis to identify missing values,
  • duplicates and inconsistencies in the collected data.
  • Data Transformation - applies data transformation techniques to standardize
  • formats and ensure consistency.
  • Validation Checks – performs appropriate validation checks to ensure that the
  • cleaned data meets quality standards before analysis.
  • Visualizations - utilizes tools such as Excel, Tableau or Power BI to create
  • visualizations that effectively represent the data. Compiles findings into clear and
  • concise reports that include visualizations, ensuring they are tailored to stakeholder
  • needs.
  • Solicits Feedback – works alongside senior team members to refine methods and
  • ensure best practices are followed.

CLIENT / STAKEHOLDERS

  • Obtains and acts on stakeholders’ feedback for improved quality and impact.

Skills & Experience

You’ll need to demonstrate:

  • Data Literacy: Previous experience with structured and unstructured data collection processes, ensuring comprehensive data sets are readily available for analysis.
  • Data Collection: Experience ensuring data collection methods align with data privacy and compliance regulations.
  • Data Cleaning: Hands-on experience in data cleaning processes, including handling missing data, duplicates, and inconsistencies.
  • Data Transformation: Familiarity with data preparation techniques, including normalization, standardization, and error correction.
  • Data visualisation: Experience translating data findings into charts, graphs, and reports that clearly communicate trends and key insights to stakeholders. Ability to provide basic visualizations using excel/PBI.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in working closely with business units or client-facing teams to understand the strategic objectives behind data requests, ensuring that data collection and insights align with their expectations
