Strategic Sourcing Systems (OSS) at Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our team. As a BIE in this role, you will be a key contributor to enhancing the Inbound efficiency and accurate predictions of our supply chain sourcing inbound operations through business intelligence. Our current focus is on improving overall visibility that Amazon has into incoming inbound freight through improving signal quality as well as signal aggregation. This allows us to orchestrate inbound freight through the supply chain, and improve overall inbound lead times. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven insights that optimize inbound signals, scheduling, and overall supply chain performance.

Key job responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain complex data models and ETL pipelines to support sourcing analytics

Create and optimize SQL queries for large-scale data analysis

Build interactive dashboards and visualizations

Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Implement data quality controls and monitoring systems

Develop automated reporting solutions and self-service analytics capabilities

Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data architecture and performance

We are responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge algorithmic solutions and data platforms that drive Amazon's sourcing decisions worldwide. Our mission is to optimize the entire procurement process, from vendor selection to inventory placement, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations. We tackle complex challenges that directly impact Amazon's bottom line and customer satisfaction by leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and big data technologies to make data-driven decisions that optimize costs, improve delivery times, and enhance product availability across millions of items.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
  • Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis
  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
