Production Worker – Contract-to-Hire Opportunity in Tacoma, WA

Location: Tacoma, WA

Pay Rate: Competitive (based on experience)

Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (with occasional overtime)

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production Worker to join our team in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role involves assembling custom doors, performing quality checks, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. Ideal candidates will have a mechanical mindset, experience with hand and power tools, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and operational issues to minimize downtime
  • Verify materials, dimensions, and tolerances before and during production
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and building codes
  • Assemble doors and install hardware and components
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area
  • Accurately complete daily production logs and paperwork
  • Communicate production or quality concerns to supervisors promptly
  • Follow all safety protocols and report equipment malfunctions
  • Support additional production tasks as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly
  • 3–6 months of experience using hand and power tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure and interpret work orders
  • Proven dependability and solid work history
  • Capable of lifting and maneuvering 50 lbs regularly, up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Enjoyment of hands-on, physical work and craftsmanship

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in a wood shop or door manufacturing environment
  • on-site construction or similar physical labor roles

Work Environment

  • Large manufacturing facility with overhead cranes, forklifts, and trucks
  • Exposure to sawdust and noise due to custom cabinetry production
  • Fast-paced and physically demanding environment
  • Seasonal temperature variations (hot in summer, cold in winter)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
