Product Background

Amadeus Cytric is the product built for corporate travel and expense management.

Cytric provides a smooth, end-to-end digital experience to the employees and improve the eGiciency of the corporations they work for when it comes to planning and booking business travel and enforcing business policies.

The mission of the global Cytric RDT group is to build and deliver the Travel application for Cytric.

Role Overview

Director, Software Engineering for Cytric Travel

As the Director of Software Engineering for Cytric Travel, you'll lead a dynamic team responsible for the development and delivery of the Cytric Travel application. You'll oversee all aspects of product development, including front-end, back-end, and database management. This is your chance to make a significant impact on a product that millions of travellers rely on.

The primary objective would be to translate the business strategy into a concrete action plan for the delivery of Cytric Travel application, lead a team composed of several engineering profiles.

The technologies used are primarily Java, Google Closure Templates, XSL, Oracle DB, React, integration with Microsoft Teams.

Key Responsibilities

Feature Delivery:

• You'll be at the forefront of delivering features for Cytric Travel, ensuring our

product remains cutting-edge and user-friendly. You will be working with

product management to define and share the roadmap and vision according

to the division/company objectives

• You will facilitate PI Planning readiness by ensuring that the refinement for all

features are done properly to ensure on time delivery

• You’ll work closely with the Product Owners, Product management to help

ensuring execution alignment with strategy / business priorities

Team Leadership

• As a leader, you'll inspire and guide teams of talented developers and scrum

masters. You'll focus on talent management, recruitment, and fostering an

innovative work environment that encourages eGiciency and continuous

improvement. Your leadership will be key to our success.

• You will be leading managers of teams of software developers / scrum masters

/ QA engineer.

• You will define the team objectives and translate them into individual

objectives for each team member in line with organizational goals

• You will be the compensation planner for the team. Evaluate team and

individual performance and perform salary reviews.

• You will be planning and driving recruitment activities for the team – work

closely with the recruitment team to meet expected hiring dates with very good

quality hires at diGerent skill levels

• You will manage escalations with a proactive approach, ensuring issues are

resolved swiftly and eGectively.

• You'll uphold the highest quality standards, ensuring our product is reliable

and performs seamlessly.

Technology Stack

• You'll work with a state-of-the-art technology stack, including Java, Google

Closure Templates, XSL, Oracle DB, and React. Integration into Microsoft

Teams is a significant aspect of our development process, allowing us to

create a seamless experience for our users.

• You will work closely with the Cytric Architects to ensure:

o Tech debt does not get added / built

o Previous tech debt gets the right attention and priorities – by making

proposals on how to address and remove the same

• You will evaluate and ensure all Amadeus approved technologies are used in

the deliveries

grow the possible ideas

• You will drive eGiciency gains in all activities in your span by the use of

automation and AI technologies

• You will ensure that all NFRs are met in the deliveries. (performance,

scalability, security etc.)

Qualifications/Experience

Education:

BE/ BTech, computer science or related field preferred

Relevant work experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience in software product engineering in multi-national

companies

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading and managing software development

teams

• Experience working in Agile setups using SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) in a

global distributed environment

• Technical expertise in building end to end enterprise applications (full stack) -

Java, J2EE, Spring, Microservices, Kafka, event driven architecture, cloud native

architectures, SQL and NoSQL Databases.

• Good understanding of one of the UI frameworks like Javascript, JQuery,

Bootstrap, CSS, HTML, Angular, React

• Knowledge of Google Closure Templates, XSL, XSLT will be a plus
• Experience working on Devops, Docker / Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure cloud,

Github and CI / CD (Jenkins)

• Experience on handling NFRs - Application Performance, Application Security,

Junit, REST APIs, Mockito Frameworks etc.

• Should have worked with mission critical products and applications
• Should have support products in production - for pilots, roll outs, in regular

operation

Business Knowledge

• Good knowledge of travel industry (hotels, airline, ground, rail transportation etc.)
• preferred
• Awareness of GDS / NDC programs and the airline travel distribution business
• Aware of the market for corporate travel and expense products
