Circuit Board QA Inspector

Job Description

As a QA Inspector, you will achieve and maintain certifications in IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-7711, and Final QA. You will also develop skills in soldering to level 3 and train towards level 4 fine pitch soldering. Your role involves operating x-ray machines, updating procedures, maintaining 6S standards, and following Safety, ESD, ITAR, and QMS protocols. Participation in Lean activities and continuous improvement processes is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Become and maintain certifications in IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-7711.
  • Achieve and sustain soldering level 3 skills and train for level 4 fine pitch soldering.
  • Operate x-ray machines according to work instructions.
  • Assist in updating procedures and work instructions to align with current processes.
  • Maintain 6S standards and seek ways to improve processes.
  • Model and enforce Safety, ESD, ITAR, and QMS protocols.
  • Participate in Lean activities and provide feedback on changes to ensure stability.
  • Follow QMS-defined procedures pertinent to your role.
  • Work to meet or exceed quality and production schedules.
  • Use the MES to track job time and status.
  • Relentlessly pursue waste reduction.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with soldering inspection and testing for IPC 610 quality soldered joints.
  • Proficiency in inspecting circuit board components and testing for continuity.
  • Ability to read and reference electrical board drawings and identify schematic components.
  • Skilled in inspecting through a microscope.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Familiarity with QMS documentation for your area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of inspecting to IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Experience with circuit board and test technology.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
