Job Title: Machine Operator 20-23$

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery. The role involves installation and adjustment of rolls, threading up, first piece inspection, welding, and general cleanup. The ideal candidate will utilize precision measurement instruments, perform basic shop math calculations, and operate wire machines with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate wire machine with minimum supervision.
  • Change over equipment and ensure the quality of the product.
  • Make necessary changes in prescribed operating conditions to produce quality products.
  • Perform necessary tests and measurements to assure products meet required specifications.
  • Keep accurate product data and records.
  • Correct or adjust any machine malfunction immediately to ensure continuity of production and quality of the next process.
  • Report any major machine malfunction immediately to the supervisor.
  • Continually inspect products while performing other duties.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Assist in other duties as directed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in machine operation, production, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to read measurements using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Forklift operation skills.
  • Mechanically inclined.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 6+ months of heavy manufacturing experience required.
  • Prefer machine operation experience (at least 6 months).
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must be able to complete all job tasks safely and work with a safety mindset.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs throughout the shift.

Work Environment

This position is within a heavy manufacturing environment, requiring work in conditions that may be hot in summer and cold in winter. The environment is not temperature-controlled and can be hot in areas with induction furnaces. Steel toes and safety glasses are required. Shifts include: 1st shift (8am-4pm), 2nd shift (4pm-12am), 3rd shift (12am-8am), with alternative shifts including A Shift (Sun-Wed), B Shift (Sun-Wed), C Shift (Thurs-Sat), and D Shift (Thurs-Sat).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orrville, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
