The Technology Solutions Department is actively seeking one Info Tech Analyst - Data Goverance.

This position reports to the Information Security Officer and establishes the rules, policies, and procedures that ensure data accuracy, reliability, compliance, and security. This position has overall responsibility for data quality and reliability.

Examples of Work

  • Develops and owns data governance program for the City of Jacksonville, including identifying key stakeholders, establishing quality standards, identifying data risk, developing data classification standards, conducting data audits, and providing support to data owners and custodians
  • Engineers, administers, and continuously improves internal data tools to allow better handling and management of internal data.
  • Monitors data governance, including storage, access controls, security measures, and compliance considerations
  • Establishes data usage patterns and flows for internal and external applications, use this data to support security controls to protect data.
  • Maintains documentation for data governance, including input on general IT policy
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support their requirements while maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
  • Maintains repository and awareness of relevant laws, regulations, and policies applicable to data usage for the City.
  • Defines key metrics around data usage, including storage requirement, traffic usage, sensitivity labels, and regular audits of access controls.
  • Performs related work as required.

Open Requirements/Supplemental Information

  • Eight (8) years of education and/or experience in data governance or data management.
  • Experience with data management principles, knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and to present in front of senior management.
  • Strong knowledge of documentation best practices
