This position is a member of the IT Enterprise Programs Team that is within the Regional IT Division at American Airlines.
- This position will be responsible for performing IT support for the three wholly owned American Eagle Carriers. This position will oversee IT initiatives and support activities to deliver services and solutions that meet the overall strategic regional IT business objectives for the American Eagle wholly owned carriers of American Airlines. The primary focus is documenting and maintaining the systems that perform the airlines dispatch, crew scheduling and maintenance functions.
- The primary role of the Systems Analyst is to deliver support to the maintenance of the operations software. This role will assist users to utilize software programs efficiently and effectively in order to fulfill business objectives. Additional duties include all Disaster Recovery and Cyber Security compliance initiatives as well as leading the improvement of the compliance functions with regard to the IT Operations applications

- Gain in-depth knowledge of required software applications to support carrier operations.
- Assists software upgrades and implementations by reviewing documentation, testing, and coordinating with the development team and business units.
- Ownership of documented DR and Cyber IT processes and departmental guidance on business/systems analyst best practices.
- Partner with business units to determine project priorities, business case justifications, and to clarify and communicate business needs
- Provide support for ongoing disaster recovery initiatives
- Maintaining system documentation and ensuring platform compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations
- Assisting with platform-related projects, ensuring timely execution, and managing seamless integration of SaaS solutions with existing systems
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Experience in documenting complex computer systems; documenting compliance of Disaster Recovery and Cyber Security initiatives
- 2+ years airline experience supporting / documenting regional airline operations systems
- Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills in a hybrid work from home environment
- Strong technical writing skills
- Experience with Observability principles and tools (logging, monitoring, alerting, change & incident management)
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related IT field
- Proficient with existing IT systems that impact American Eagle Airlines
- 5+ years of proven experience in Regional IT Airline operations
- Expert in ops systems used at the American Eagle Carriers
- Experience in large implementations of ops systems
- Training in DevOps practices for establishing appropriate monitoring, documentation and environmental support to ensure a fault tolerant, reliable and highly available environment
