About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer with an expertise in Test Automation to join our Global Payments and Liquidity Technology team within Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT). In this role you will primarily be focused on automation scripting related to applications that enable critical payments and wires technology. You will also act as a mentor and subject matter expert (SME) for the automation and quality assurance teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Continuously improve test coverage and efficiency through automation.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies for test automation.
  • Promote a positive team atmosphere by building trust with peers and prioritizing needs of the team.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, QA analysts, product managers, and integration partners to build reusable components and enhance the automation suite for faster test delivery.
  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Test Automation
  • 5+ years of experience using Java, Python, and JavaScript.
  • 5+ years of experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies, utilizing tools such as JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, and Confluence.
  • 5+ years of experience with test automation frameworks and tools including Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, and TestNG.
  • 5+ years of experience in API testing and validation using tools like Postman and RestAssured, particularly in the context of payment systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems.
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable in payment messaging standards such as ISO 8583 and ISO 20022.
  • Proficient in .NET C#, with strong expertise in ASP.NET WebAPI
  • Over 3 years of hands-on experience with relational database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL
  • Solid understanding of Agile development practices, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or comparable generative AI development tools
  • Skilled in Test-Driven Development (TDD), including unit, integration, API, performance, and functional testing
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Demonstrates high levels of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
  • Fast learner with a passion for exploring new and emerging technologies
  • Proficient in evaluating and integrating new tools and technologies to enhance productivity

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$111,100.00 - $217,200.00
