Roles and Responsibility

  • Tokyo, Japan base customer support engineer responsible for Japanese market as a primary market and in the Region when support is needed (Region means: SEA, China, Taiwan, Korea, Australia & New Zealand).
  • Responsible for delivering project from technical/ engineering point of view on time and as per customer and partner expectations.
  • Work with internal Ribbon Engineering teams in preparation and support of Customer field Deployment and Technical Support activities
  • Secure that Commissioning of DWDM and Packet IP equipment including node power-up, DCN setup, Shelf and card commissioning, Optical Transport and Optical Switch commissioning are performed with the right technical skill and on time
  • Understand and able to operate with NMS and/or Optical Management systems
  • Understand Service setup per node and network from 10G to 400G traffic transmission
  • End to End network service and protection switch setup and testing
  • Understand Network Integration testing with 3rd party vendor Optical equipment
  • Secure Documentation of all commissioning procedures and test results as required by Customer
  • Ribbon DWDM/OTN covered are Long haul, Metro and Access Optical Transport and Switch products
  • Work in conjunction was local Optical Design Specialist Engineer on specific customer requirements
  • Ability to also expand skills and knowledge across Ribbon’s Neptune Packet platforms

Main Interfaces in/outside Ribbon:

  • Internal Ribbon organizations: T3, R&D, Engineering, Sales, Project Management and more.
  • Ribbon Customers

Qualification

  • B.E. / B. tech / Degree in Electronics or Electronics & telecommunication.
  • Over 2 years hands on experience in working with Telecommunication network system. This includes Testing, Field as well as NOC
  • Packet (IP and Layer 2) skill is highly recommended
  • Packet skill means understanding of IP services, Traffic Engineering and IP architecture
  • Wide Knowledge on NMS Components, DWDM technology, provisions, commissioning, Protection Mechanism, related products & technologies is preferred.
  • Candidates having customer service orientation / having experience as customer interface as technical support role is preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills both in Japanese and English

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Japan.
