Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform SQL Server Database Administrative responsibilities for on premises environments - provide end to end Database Administrative support, help with Performance Tuning, Query and Index reviews as well as tuning
- Assist with troubleshooting issues and identifying root cause
- Ensure security and compliance as well as adherence to applicable industry and company security standards
- Proactively monitoring SQL servers, utilizing custom or vendor monitoring tools, setting up alerts or automation as applicable to help prevent issues
- Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss
- Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance
- Manage database access and permissions
- Regularly liaising with IT project managers and database programmers
- Provide On call support. Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors. Understanding of applicable ITIL best practices
- Ability to work in Evening SHIFT (11:30 am - 8.30 pm or 2:30 PM - 12AM), as per business requirement
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 8+ years in a database administrative role, within an enterprise-level database environment
- 5+ recent years of experience specifically with a Microsoft SQL Server environment
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Solid knowledge of SQL Server architecture, administration, and performance tuning
- Proficiency in T-SQL and scripting languages
- Familiarity with database design principles and best practices
- Proven excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Solid communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in Delphix.
- Knowledge of DevOps concepts and implementations.
