Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Sr. Manager, Firmware Engineering to lead our Thermal Controls Firmware team. This role is responsible for overseeing the development, integration, and optimization of embedded firmware solutions that manage thermal systems across our product portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in thermal control algorithms, embedded systems, and cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of multiple simultaneous firmware development projects across regions and domains
  • Communicate with customers effectively and objectively
  • Resolve complex technical problems and adapt to changing business dynamics
  • Prioritize development activities in line with company goals and priorities
  • Allocate development resources in an efficient and sustainable manner
  • Create, maintain, and manage product use cases and requirements
  • Assess and build sustainable development teams
  • Manage and motivate a team of multiple individuals across geographic regions
  • Create and maintain process in a complex development environment

Requirements:

  • BS degree in computer science or electrical/mechanical with software/firmware lifecycle experience
  • 15+ years' experience with software and firmware development
  • Knowledge of the physics of thermal technologies such as thermocouples, fans, pumps, compressors, valves, thermal chambers, and thermal interface materials
  • Knowledge of thermal/mechanical design principles, predictive analysis, CAD software, and manufacturing
  • Drive innovation in design and development activities
  • Drive diagnostic investigations to resolve field and development problems
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities to facilitate effective interactions with multiple business units
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple business units to develop systems benefitting the company as a whole
  • Knowledge of the operation of thermal cooling systems
  • Knowledge of controls development processes and standards
  • Knowledge of thermal technologies such as coils, evaporators, and liquid cooling technologies
  • Knowledge and development experience across multiple business units with strong knowledge of data management, communication protocols, monitoring, and control systems
  • Experience with the development of real-time and near real-time control systems
  • Experience driving the development of object-oriented systems, particularly industrial or hardware control and interface systems.
  • Experience in or with multiple domain development projects, including control, monitoring, and simulation across multiple platforms.
  • Experience with the operation of HVAC equipment
