Position Overview

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

The goal of TDI Engineering Platforms and Practices is to enable the enterprise governance for the development process within Deutsche Bank. We will put an engineering mindset at the forefront of the decision-making process and will establish and embed the engineering best practice across the IT teams.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will enable and support the SDLC tooling that is so much needed to modernize the Bank’s software development practice, reduce risk and improve efficiency. You will focus on reducing manual toil, improving operational reliability and driving automation-first practices. This is a hands-on role with strong focus on implementing SRE practices and reducing toil for Developer Tools.

Responsibilities

The Site Reliability Engineer role comprises subject matter engineering expertise in the development, deployment and maintenance of tools such as Github, Bitbucket, JIRA, TeamCity, Artifactory and others. You’ll have development skills and will handle daily operational tasks and long-term projects. Typical operational tasks may include:

  • Managing customer tickets and provide outage resolution. Agreeing actions to reduce the likelihood of failure happening in the future.
  • Working closely with application teams to ensure stable, well monitored applications that are resilient to faults. For this, you will have to set up and maintain Prometheus, Grafana, and other monitoring tools.
  • Keeping track of SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to make sure we achieve appropriate levels of application stability and reliability goals.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and self-service capabilities and implementing them to eliminate toil for both the application teams and the SRE team.

Skills

  • Customer oriented and previous experience with L2&L3 support roles.
  • Experience in implementing observability solution using any industry standard tools, like Prometheus/Grafana/NewRelic or similar.
  • Understanding and experience in Developer Tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, TeamCity, Artifactory, Udeploy) as an enterprise level Administrator experienced in managing applications with large user base.
  • Nice to have scripting skills in Python, Go, Bash, or anything similar.
  • Working within a global team, English is a must.
