Position Overview

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

The goal of TDI Engineering Platforms and Practices is to enable the enterprise governance for the development process within Deutsche Bank. We will put an engineering mindset at the forefront of the decision-making process and will establish and embed the engineering best practice across the IT teams.

You will be joining this group as a Lead Engineer working on Developer Productivity tooling which supports discovery and promotion of engineering practices across the entire organization. You will be responsible for designing and enhancing our tool suite supporting DORA, SPACE and DevEx frameworks and working to promote Engineering Culture through supporting strategies and experimentation. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future technology and culture of our firm.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in full development cycle of our flagship Developer productivity tooling together with a squad of software developers in the Application Development department.
  • Coach delivery teams in modern engineering practices, striving to ensure that your team can build, test and release software with short lead times and at a minimum of waste
  • Working directly with divisional leaders and other development teams to elicit requirements
  • Understanding the divisional practices, the industry standards and the regulatory requirements and recommending modern techniques backed by data and proved through experimentation (of your design)
  • Developing supporting materials (software, training materials, workshops) to guide adoption and measurement (KPIs) and act as a SDLC Ambassador in the firm

Skills

  • Experienced polyglot developer (we use Java/React/Kotlin mostly)
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Knowledge of common application architecture, integration, and design patterns.
  • Familiar with DevOps and infra technologies, like TFE, GoLang, scripting like Anisble and GitHub technologies (GHAs etc).
  • Exposure to Google’s DORA, SPACE, DevEx and similar frameworks is a plus
  • Experience in modern software delivery techniques including engineering practices such as XP and automated testing techniques such as TDD/ATDD
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Working within a global team, fluent English is a must
