Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in user facing applications and software (e.g., games, mobile apps, or web apps, etc.).
  • Experience working with developers and business stakeholders (e.g., product marketing, finance, or legal, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Ability to produce frameworks and documents that communicate status, scope, timelines, task planning, action items, risks, issues, project dependencies, test planning, or rollout planning.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent program management skills (e.g., planning, execution, estimation, risk management, stakeholder management).

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with technical and non-technical leaders to accelerate organization execution.
  • Manage the portfolio planning and prioritization, partner with Engineering and Product, drive Roadmap/OKR planning, milestones, and software schedules.
  • Propose, present, and iterate on proposals with cross-functional and executive audiences.
  • Design processes and introduce governance to reduce complexity and improve communication.
  • Drive alignment across teams to reach consensus on product direction, metrics, engineering scope/feasibility, etc.
