The Enterprise Network Engineering team at AWS is looking for an experienced Network Development Engineer to support our employee installations around the globe.

This position will collaborate with a team of like-minded engineers located in different regions around the world to support connectivity options for our Corporate, Customer Service, and Subsidiary locations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Operational support for multi-vendor data connectivity solutions to support Amazon’s growth worldwide.
  • Monitor and maintain performance & capacity at Amazon’s office installations to ensure maximum efficiency and operational uptime.
  • Work with vendors and cross-functional teams for on-going design efforts and systems support.
  • Support & build wireless solutions for a variety of Amazon locations.
  • Support & build ISP facilitated connectivity for all Amazon Corporate offices and Customer Service locations.
  • Manage severity 1 and severity 2 tickets while attending to on-call rotations during business hours and rostered weekends.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years experience of network fundamentals, robust troubleshooting skills, strong IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in one or more of the following: TCP, UDP, DNS or DHCP
  • 4+ years of experience with one or more major internet routing protocols; BGP, OSPF, etc.
  • Experience with major router platforms such as Cisco & Juniper devices
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Shell, Perl etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: STP, PVST, First Hop Redundancy Protocols, EtherChannel, QoS , NTP , 802.1x & NetFlow.
  • Experience with IPSec / Remote Access VPN technologies such as Firewalls (ASA) , Wireless (802.11x)
  • CCNP/CCIE certification is a plus
  • Experience in lab-testing & certification of networking devices
