Join Amazon's Variations team and transform how millions of customers discover and shop for related products! As an SDE-2, you'll build innovative solutions that power the relationships between billions of product variations across the world's largest e-commerce catalog. You'll design and develop systems that ensure customers can easily navigate between product variations (sizes, colors, styles), leveraging Large Language Models, cloud computing, and machine learning to ensure variation data quality and consistency. Working with complex theme attributes across product families, you'll solve fascinating technical challenges:
Building scalable systems that handle billions of variation relationships while optimizing cloud resource usage
Developing innovative LLM solutions to automatically measure and improve variation quality
Creating sophisticated measurement systems to track quality metrics and identify improvement opportunities
Implementing robust applications using AWS technologies like EMR, ECS, Fargate, and SageMaker

The Variations team sits within Amazon's Catalog Systems division and is responsible for ensuring customers can easily navigate between related product options. We build systems at massive scale, processing billions of product relationships that power shopping experiences across all Amazon marketplaces. Our team maintains a high bar for operational and software engineering excellence while fostering a collaborative and supportive culture. We work closely with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to continually improve the quality of variations in Amazon's catalog, directly enhancing the customer shopping journey.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
