You Are:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager (Tech PM) with deep expertise in Ab Initio and strong project management capabilities (PMP preferred). This role requires a blend of technical proficiency and leadership to manage complex data integration projects, ensure delivery excellence, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

The opportunity:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end data integration and ETL projects using Ab Initio.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Ensure adherence to PMP/PMBOK methodologies and organizational standards.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to Data Analysts, Ab Initio development team and QA team.
  • Conduct risk assessments, manage change requests, and ensure quality assurance.
  • Communicate project status and escalate issues to senior leadership as needed.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ab Initio tools and architecture.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX systems and shell scripting.
  • Experience in Ab Initio Graphical Development Environment (GDE).
  • Hands-on experience with Ab Initio Meta Data Hub (MDH) and Enterprise Meta>Data Environment (EME).
  • Familiarity with Ab Initio Control Center and Continuous Flows for web services.
  • Strong analytical skills to break down complex issues and design scalable solutions.
  • Experience managing end-to-end data warehousing and reporting solutions.
  • Ability to estimate development efforts and manage delivery timelines.
  • Experience collaborating with Production Validation (PV) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) teams.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Technical design and facilitation skills with driving technical solutions while working with Business and IT leadership.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective documentation skills.
  • Proficient in English for communication purposes.
  • Open and honest communication with peers and management regarding estimations and project timelines, including proactive updates on issues and concerns.
  • Assertiveness in presenting ideas, estimates, project scope, and timelines.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with DB2 and Postgres databases.
  • Familiarity with handling PHI (Protected Health Information) and PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and sensitive data.
  • 10+ years’ experience working in data warehousing environment using Ab Initio suite.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics tools such as Cognos or Tableau.
  • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, including medical and prescription claims processing, healthcare enrollments, and provider operations.
  • Awareness of security standards in data handling.
  • Qualifications:
  • Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Required: bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Virginia

Compensation Range: $84,000-$126,000

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
