Position PurposeThe Dartmouth Climate Collaborative brings together and builds on Dartmouth’s work in climate and sustainability. Co-led by a Faculty Director and the Director of Sustainability, the Program Coordinator will work closely with both, as well as with other staff, to support the Collaborative’s goals.
Together with the Faculty Director, this role will focus on developing campus and community engagement around climate scholarship/research and education at Dartmouth. The Program Coordinator will help support existing scholarship/research and teaching activities on climate and developing new opportunities, coordinate the Campus-as-Lab grant process, plan an annual event highlighting Campus-as-Lab and research project outcomes, and help organize a larger climate-focused conference. The Program Coordinator will also manage the Collaborative’s website and develop and support access to Dartmouth lands for teaching and research.
This is a one-year term position.

- Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies or a related field
- Experience implementing climate sustainability initiatives, campus programs, and/or environmental projects
- Proven ability to work as part of a fast-paced, innovative team
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while applying strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Positive, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and independent judgment
- Commitment to diversity and participation in a community of inclusion
- Proficiency with communication tools, social media platforms, and Google & Microsoft Office programs
- Flexibility to adapt schedule to the College’s year-round calendar
- Previous experience organizing events
- Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in environmental studies or a related field
- Experience in website design and implementation, and in web-based platforms
- Knowledge of Dartmouth curriculum, student programs, and climate and sustainability initiatives

Key Accountabilities
DescriptionProgram Support -
- Partners with the Faculty Director to support and coordinate climate-related scholarship/research efforts across campus.
- Partners with the Faculty Director to support existing climate-related teaching across campus and develop new curricular and co-curricular opportunities.
- Develops and maintains the Climate Collaborative website, highlighting initiatives, activities, and accomplishments.
- Improves access to Dartmouth lands to facilitate teaching and research aligned with climate and sustainability priorities.
- Conducts outreach and builds collaborative networks with students, staff, faculty, and the broader Upper Valley community.

DescriptionCampus-as-Lab Grant Program & Annual Event -
- Designs and manages a web-based system for Campus-as-Lab proposal submissions, reviews, decisions, and grant reporting.
- Establishes and maintains a transparent, standardized proposal review process.
- Organizes and leads an annual event that showcases Campus-as-Lab and other climate scholarship/research projects and outcomes to the Dartmouth and Upper Valley communities.
- Collaborates with the Campus-as-Lab Program Manager to support project implementation, including site access, data coordination, and resource management.
- Leads outreach and communications to encourage participation from faculty, students, and staff across Arts & Sciences divisions, institutes, and professional schools.

DescriptionAnnual Conference Planning & Execution -
- Works with Climate Collaborative co-directors and staff to define the vision, goals, and content of the annual conference.
- Coordinates all aspects of conference planning and logistics, including scheduling, venue selection, transportation, meals, and on-site programming.

DescriptionCollaborative and Administrative Support -
- Assists in organizing and participating in bi-annual Advisory Council meetings and other planning meetings with co-directors and staff.
- Cultivates and maintains strong working relationships with key campus partners to advance collaborative climate initiatives.
- Serves as an accessible and knowledgeable resource for students, staff, and faculty engaging with the Climate Collaborative.
- Manages administrative tasks such as responding to inquiries, coordinating space and catering for events, sourcing materials, and producing content for social media and blog posts.
