Position PurposeThe Custodial Day Shift Manager oversees daily custodial operations during the assigned day shift, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment across a large and diverse campus portfolio. This role leads multiple supervisors and team leads who oversee a sizable custodial workforce, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation protocols, managing staffing, training, equipment, supply procurement, and inventory. The manager also coordinates custodial support for campus events and emergency responses, acting as a key liaison between custodial staff, campus stakeholders, and building occupants to foster collaboration and deliver exceptional service tailored to the needs of a higher education environment.
DescriptionDartmouth is seeking a Custodial Day Shift Manager to lead custodial services across a large, vibrant higher education campus. You will oversee three supervisors, two leads, and more than 100 custodial staff who maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment spanning millions of square feet. This position offers the chance to manage diverse teams, support campus events, oversee budgets, and respond to emergencies—all while fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace.
