R&D Test Technician – (Contract) – Onsite – MA

Dynamic Robotics Manufacturer seeks a R&D Test Technician for an onsite 6-month contract with possible extensions. This requires expertise in testing mechanical or electromechanical systems within a lab or R&D setting. Individual must have the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and have familiarity with testing instrumentation and logging data within various tracking tools. Individual will operate and monitor actuator and subassembly test stands while following detailed test procedures. This person will log test results, track failures while documenting observations and should have expertise within these areas. This person must also have expertise in debugging mechanical and electrical issues while escalating as needed. Opportunity offers a contract working for an innovative tech organization that provides free lunch, parking, and happy hour Fridays, just west of Boston. US Citizen and Green Card work authorization are required. Individual will be eligible to work as W2 Consultant with or without benefits. No 3rd party inquiries please.

Requirements

• US Citizenship/Green Card Work Authorization Required.
• Ability to work as W2 employee, meaning no 1099 consultants.
• 1+ years testing mechanical or electromechanical systems within the lab or an R&D setting.
• The ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with test instrumentation and data logging tools.
• Expertise with testing actuators, motion systems, root cause analysis and failure investigations, as well as a history working within high-voltage systems are all a plus but not required.
• Expertise in Google Sheets, JIRA and test documentation workflows are also a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serving within a team to support the operations, testing and troubleshooting of actuators and electro-mechanical subassemblies for humanoid robots.
• Working hands-on to run test stands, capture data, and investigate issues across mechanical, electrical and software domains.
• Own test activities while following through on root cause investigations within a fast-paced, evolving R&D environment.
• Logging test results, tracking failures and documenting observations in tracking tools to include JIRA.
• Performing basic debugging of mechanical/electrical issues while escalating as needed.
• Working closely with engineers in support of root cause investigations and re-test efforts.
• Maintaining test equipment and fixtures.
• Assisting in the setup and establishment of test hardware and updated test flows.
• Supporting traceability and documentation of tested parts.
