Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager for a 6+ month contract with one of our rapidly expanding Health Tech clients. This position will be part of an energetic engineering Program Management Office (ePMO). In this role, you will collaborate with product engineering and business leaders to manage and develop a strategic portfolio of initiatives. Your responsibilities will include clarifying objectives, developing and maintaining roadmaps, and assessing risks and complexities to ensure successful delivery.

As a member of a high-performing ePMO team, you will contribute to the execution of programs and portfolios, ensuring consistency, alignment with best practices, and timely delivery. You will evaluate program health, recommend corrective actions, and escalate issues as necessary.

This position requires a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and the ability to influence across multiple practice areas. Reporting to the Head of the ePMO, you will help define and scale best practices in program execution, Agile methodologies, and mentorship of fellow program managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple complex initiatives with cross-functional dependencies that impact long-term business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain detailed roadmaps and execution plans for assigned areas.
  • Partner with engineering and business leaders to define scope, success criteria, and resource needs.
  • Align stakeholders and gain support for initiatives and priorities.
  • Provide executive-level visibility into program health, risks, and dependencies.
  • Shape product and technical direction through a deep understanding of challenges and opportunities.
  • Drive innovation and operational efficiency throughout the organization.
  • Mentor and support other program managers in best practices and execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience leading technical programs in fast-paced, complex environments.
  • Strong expertise in Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Jira Plan.
  • Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders.
  • Track record of delivering results in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Technical fluency and a willingness to develop domain expertise.
  • Experience managing large-scale, end-to-end technical programs with measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management, product lifecycle, and engineering operations.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and senior leadership.

Pay Range:

$90 - $95 per hour
