About the team and the role:
eBay, Inc. seeks Data Science – Analyst 2 in San Jose, CA
What you will accomplish:
Job Duties: Conduct product analysis and identify opportunities to drive transformative change in the customer experience and result in significant business growth through developing new innovative search experience based on catalog. Coordinate with Engineering, Product, Business, and Data Science teams to modernize eBay’s buyer experience by generating data insights to for UI designs, user product flows and backend algorithms. Design and construct data pipelines to automate the collection, transformation, and storage of diverse data sources, ensuring reliable data availability. Partner with engineering and tracking team to establish essential tracking for new feature development. Conduct statistical analyses, prototype models, and analyze A/B tests to optimize user experiences and product performance. Research, design, and implement advanced machine learning and deep learning models to analyze large datasets, driving data-driven decision-making and strategic business initiatives. Create clear and actionable data visualizations to support the understanding and execution of strategies. Identify and pursue innovative product growth opportunities based on data insights-influencing and driving product development and enhancements. Effectively communicate complex analytical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering alignment and informed decision-making across the organization. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
What you will bring:
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Process large-scale datasets using Spark, PySpark, and SQL.
2. A/B testing design and advanced statistical analysis, including hypothesis testing and forecasting.
3. Create interactive dashboards and communicate insights with data visualization tools like Tableau, Matplotlib, or Plotly.
4. Design, train, and deploy machine learning and deep neural networks.
5. Design and fine-tune NLP models (BERT, GPT and T5) for tasks including information extraction, classification and sentiment analysis.
6. Develop and optimize generative AI models and large language models for content generation.
7. Multimodal learning techniques to integrate and analyze text, image, and structured data using advanced embedding models.
8. Design and develop algorithms and software applications using Python or Java.
Salary: $148,699.00-205,700.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
