What You’ll be doing

As a CHS Data Center support technician, you will play a key role in maintaining infrastructure integrity and availability. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Ticketing & Communication

  • Coordinate with OCI service owners and cross-functional teams via Oracle’s internal ticketing system
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates on tasks and incidents

Logistics & Inventory Support

  • Perform rack scanning, cycle counts, and parts audits
  • Manage RMA processing and hardware parts transfers
  • Handle shipping and receiving for parts and equipment

Operational & Onsite Support

  • Support hardware installations with white-glove delivery and escort duties
  • Provide logistical support for onsite hardware activities
  • Enforce asset tagging and physical inventory procedures
  • Will support multiple sites and requires local travel in Chicagoland area

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate asset inventory using internal tools
  • Resolve tickets within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Escalate and resolve hardware or logistical issues in coordination with site leads
  • Participate in physical audits and compliance checks to support governance and security protocols

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Strong willingness to learn data center technologies and processes
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and shipping parts
  • Familiarity with issue escalation and incident reporting procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in inventory management or data center operations
  • Working knowledge of server, storage, and networking hardware components
  • Experience in high-security or regulated data center environments (IC-class facility experience a plus)
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in a guided technical environment

US: Hiring Range in USD from $27.07 to $54.13 per hour; from: $56,300 to $112,600 per annum. May be eligible for equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
