About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our client in Zurich for a 12-month contract. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and stability of a complex, business-critical platform, working in a dynamic environment alongside cross-functional teams.

This role requires someone with strong testing skills, self-drive, and the ability to operate independently while maintaining a clear overview of interconnected applications and testing progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute functional and regression tests in a complex technical environment.
• Drive test automation using Java, Selenium, BDD/Cucumber.
• Experience in Automation Frameworks using Selenium
• Scripting New test cases and maintaning / enhancing existing test cases
• Prepare and maintain test plans, identifying dependencies and risks early.
• Communicate testing status and progress clearly across multiple stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams on product iteration planning, backlog refinement, and feature breakdown.
• Proactively manage and improve automation repositories.
• Perform SQL-based data and ETL testing using Oracle SQL; PostgreSQL knowledge is a plus.
• Participate in cross-application testing efforts, including broader initiatives like the client migration.
• Support performance testing (LoadRunner experience is a plus).
• Leverage tools like GitLab CI/CD for test integration and reporting.

Your Profile

• 5+ years of experience in software testing (functional and regression) in complex environments.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in test automation.
• Strong Oracle SQL skills (PostgreSQL is a plus).
• Experience with Java, Selenium, BDD (Cucumber).
• Familiarity with GitLab pipelines and LoadRunner is advantageous.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage dependencies and deadlines.
• A proactive and self-motivated team player who takes ownership and isn’t afraid to ask for support when needed.
