JOB TITLE: Attendance Clerk- Elementary/Middle

DUTY DAYS: 200

PAY GRADE: C04

STARTING SALARY: $ 129.26/DAY

Primary Purpose:

Maintain attendance records on the district’s mainframe computer and other records related to student enrollment; issue textbooks and maintain campus textbook inventory; assist parents, students, staff, and administrators as needed.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • High School diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/ Skills:

  • Computer skills, file maintenance, record keeping and verbal and written communication skills

Experience:

  • Previous General Office Experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Follow all procedures as outlined in the PISD Registration & Entry/Withdrawal Manual.
  2. Maintain and distribute daily, weekly, six weeks, semester and yearly absence reports.
  3. Follow all procedures as outlined in the PISD Daily Attendance Manual.
  4. Enroll new students ensuring that all local, state, and federal requirements and policies are met.
  5. Enter all student data into the current student information system.
  6. Copy and mail student records when requested by another school or district, and request records for all newly enrolled students and maintain data on receipt of records
  7. Maintain student permanent folders.
  8. Maintain PEIMS records.
  9. Supply campus administration with appropriate verification reports; input corrections
  10. Input and confirm data entry for the campus as assigned by the campus administration including, but not limited to:

Gifted/Talented Student reports

Title 1 reports

At-risk student reports

Bilingual/ESL student reports

Out of district transfers

Equipment Used:

Computer and/or typewriter, copy machine, telephone and fax machine.

Mental Demands:

Reading; calculate figures; prepare reports; interpretive skills.

Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors:

Prolonged use of computer; frequent interruptions; steady phone interactions; moderate standing, stooping, bending and lifting.
