Role purpose

The Chanel Device and SIM Distributors Manager is responsible for leading the strategic planning, execution and optimization of the distribution strategy for mobile devices and SIM cards across S&D channels. This includes maintaining strong relationships with distributors and staffs to carry out all the activities required to achieve targets, ensuring availability and visibility of products across all clusters, optimizing performances as per defined commercial goals and ensuring alignment with Vodacom/Vodafone policies and Local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Channel Development & Strategy:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive distribution strategy for mobile devices and deployment of Local SIM distributors (LSD) across all regions, to increase sales within the suite of offers.
  • Develop growth strategies and plans to attract potential distributors with collaboration of field team, to expand market reach and increase revenue market share.
  • Develop segmentation models and route-to-market regionalized strategies satisfying market needs.
  • Follow up industry trends locally and internationally within group to jointly define and drive values propositions and manage projects, to pro-actively develop incremental business opportunity.

2. Distributors Management:

  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new Local SIM distributors.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, and incentive schemes with distributors.
  • Co-ordinate the distribution of SIMs to Super Vendors via Local SIM Distributor (LSD) as well the distribution of devices within Sales ‘partners to ensure continuous availability.
  • Establish clear performance metrics per region (annual) and conduct regular performance reviews (monthly/quarterly reviews). Furthermore, these will include reporting on successes and areas needing improvements.
  • Collaborate with Regions for the distribution of branding and promotion materials to enhance visibility and build distributor loyalty.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners on projects, preventative measures to anticipate issues related to supply chain, Stock or performance.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with Sale’s partners involved in distribution of SIM and Devices.

3. Sales & Revenue Growth:

  • Drive SIM & Devices sales volume and revenue growth through effective channel activation and distributor’s engagement.
  • Ensure the achievement of sales and revenue Goals through distributors that resell SIM & Devices
  • Launch and manage trade promotions, loyalty programs, and seasonal campaigns to boost sell-in and sell-out.

4. Inventory & Supply Chain coordination:

  • Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and stock availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels across the distribution network to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Implement demand forecasting models to align supply with market demand.

5. Market Intelligence & Reporting:

  • Conduct regular market visits to gather insights on competitor activities, pricing and preferences.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and channel performance to inform strategic decisions.
  • Prepare regularly detailed reports and dashboards for senior management on SIM & Devices KPIs
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on performance data and market analysis

6. Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure all distributors comply with Vodacom/Vodafone policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support on periodic audits and risk assessments of the distribution network.
  • Manage contracts, SLAs, and dispute resolution processes with sales'partners.

7.Training and Support:

Monitor training of Sales ‘partner by Sales Academy on:

  • Develop and implement training programs (Sales technique, Inventory and merchandising best practices, Digital tools and reporting systems…) for distributors and retail partners
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve content and delivery.
  • Build a knowledge-sharing culture among channel partners to foster innovation and collaboration.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience required:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree +3 in Business Administration, Telecoms, Economics, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Telecoms GSM Industry and in a similar role, or in Distribution management
  • Knowledge of emerging trends, best practices, tools, use of computer, methodologies in Sales and Distribution
  • French and English speaking and writing fluent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
