About the role

Do you like to contribute to adding value to company data? This is a great opportunity for you! We are looking for a Software Developer Specialist who will integrate data from the company’s diverse data source into our Enterprise Data Platform and make them available.

What you'll do here:

  • Collaborate with the team and the other IT departments to analyze, develop, test, and deploy solutions to maintain or integrate new business areas to our data warehouse and Snowflake migration.
  • Understand business requirements, translate them into technical requirements.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner for estimation, backlog prioritization, and effective delivery planning.
  • Lead the design and development of scalable data ingestion and consumption solutions tailored to meet business needs, applying advanced data engineering concepts such as medallion architecture, lakehouse architecture, data warehousing, and Lambda architecture.
  • Develop robust stored procedures in Snowflake to facilitate data processing and management.
  • Utilize expertise in IICS to design, implement, and manage cloud-based data integration solutions using CDI and CAI.
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Iceberg to ingest and transform data.
  • Provide critical technical guidance and mentorship to fellow developers, helping them to understand complex requirements and technical challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps and Solution Architecture teams to design and implement seamless integration and deployment of data solutions.
  • Ensure data solutions comply with industry best practices and regulatory standards, maintaining high levels of data security and integrity.
  • Take leadership in defining the Software Engineering best practices regarding the code standardization, branching strategy, pipeline code optimization, cost optimization, design patterns, etc.
  • Provide Level 2 (L2) support by quickly diagnosing, prioritizing, and resolving incidents to minimize downtime and maintain high service availability.
  • Provide technical support to Business Intelligence analysts, testers, and deployment coordinators throughout our development cycle and for production support, typically during regular business hours.
  • Integrate CI/CD practices to automate and streamline the deployment and delivery processes.
  • Monitor data environments and processes to ensure optimal performance and compliance with data governance standards.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to help stakeholders effectively utilize data systems.
  • Implement and leverage AI agents to enhance data engineering processes, increasing automation and efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, CI/CD practices, AI applications in data engineering, and the insurance industry to propose innovative solutions.

What you bring to the table:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering / Science or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • 10 years of hands-on experience with data integration (data warehouse/lakehouse).
  • At least 7 years of strong experience with Snowflake suite of products.
  • At least 2 years working experience with IICS(CDI & CAI)
  • At least 7 years experience with PL/SQL and Python programming.
  • Proven experience in providing L2 support with a strong track record of swiftly resolving issues and incidents in data ingestion pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) techniques and different data ingestion patterns.
  • Proficient in designing and creating stored procedures in Snowflake to support complex data transformations.
  • Working experience with Data Vault and Relational Data Models.
  • Knowledge of insurance or financial sector will be advantageous.
  • Assets: databricks,streamlit, GIT, iceberg,Jenkins, Business Objects and Power BI.
  • Experience with JAVA, springboot, JMS ,JPA is a plus.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
  • Bilinguism required (FR-EN) - For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
