Join a fanstastic team and work in a great location in Cheektowaga, NY! We are in need of a Pre-Press Coordinator to grow with our Graphics team. This position is an on-site in-plant role. We offer competitive pay, a newly air-conditioned plant, and a great team environment. This is not a true Graphics Designer role here. Rate range: $21 - $25 per hour. Pay depends on experience.

Schedule: 7AM to 4PM Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate and manage incoming artwork files from clients, ensuring files meet all pre-press requirements.
  • Review and process artwork using pre-press software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Esko).
  • Prepare print-ready files for flexographic printing, including trapping, retouching, color separations.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure plate-ready files match press specifications and limitations.
  • Communicate with clients and internal departments regarding file issues, corrections, and approvals.
  • Manage proofing processes (digital and physical), including sending and tracking customer approvals.
  • Maintain job documentation and records in pre-press systems and databases.
  • Ensure compliance with print quality standards and color management protocols.
  • Troubleshoot pre-press issues related to file setup, image resolution, color profiles, etc.
  • Stay up to date with new software, hardware, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • An associate's degree in Graphics Design or similar experience is required.
  • Proven experience in a pre-press role within the flexible packaging or flexographic printing industry (typically 3+ years).
  • Strong knowledge of pre-press production, printing processes, and packaging materials (e.g., films, foils, laminates).
  • Proficiency in pre-press software (Adobe Creative Suite, Esko, or similar tools).
  • Understanding of color management, Pantone libraries, and print specifications (e.g., CMYK, spot colors).
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for internal and external collaboration.
  • Ability to decipher between colors.

Preferred Qualifications are a plus!

  • Experience working with Esko workflow systems (e.g., Automation Engine, WebCenter).
  • Knowledge of printing plate preparation and mounting processes.

Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Employee is occasionally exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and warm or humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.
