About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer We are looking for a seasoned Generative AI and Agentic AI Lead to join our platform support team. This role will spearhead initiatives focused on leveraging advanced AI capabilities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and streamline incident management. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Generative and Agentic AI, coupled with strong leadership abilities to guide strategic AI implementations across our platforms.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams
  • Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
  • Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
  • Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Drive the adoption and integration of Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions within platform support workflows.
  • Develop and deploy retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures to facilitate efficient information extraction from platforms such as Confluence, Workday, ServiceNow, and SharePoint.
  • Lead technical explorations, PoCs, and strategic AI initiatives, identifying opportunities for automation and improved operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to align AI strategy with business goals, ensuring transparent communication of AI initiatives and results.
  • Mentor and guide team members in Generative and Agentic AI best practices and technologies.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and tools, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Manage cross-functional collaboration with development, infrastructure, and operations teams.

Job Expectations:

  • 5+ years of overall experience in IT, with at least 3-5 years specializing in Generative AI, NLP, Machine Learning, and Agentic AI technologies.Minimum 5
  • Proven experience implementing Generative AI models (e.g., GPT models, Gemini Flash, LLaMA) and integrating AI solutions within enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience building agent-based solutions leveraging frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or similar.
  • Strong familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and information retrieval techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with AI infrastructure tools and frameworks, such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with APIs, scripting, and automation workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in banking, finance, or compliance platforms will be advantageous.
