Software Engineer - Highlands Ranch, CO *Hybrid/REMOTE*

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled experienced Software Engineer to support the development of real-time, mission-critical software systems for the Mars Program within the aerospace and defense sector. This role involves designing, testing, and integrating advanced software solutions that contribute directly to interplanetary exploration and mission success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement software for real-time systems supporting Mars mission objectives.
  • Execute rigorous testing, validation, and integration of software components in mission-critical environments.
  • Translate complex system requirements and specifications into robust, scalable software designs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful execution of aerospace and defense projects, with a focus on Mars exploration.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of threading, concurrency, and real-time system constraints.
  • Utilize tools such as Simulink and Simics for modeling and simulation of guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems.
  • Support DevOps practices to enhance development efficiency and deployment reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Expert-level proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux.
  • Strong understanding of threading, concurrency, and real-time systems.
  • Experience with Simulink, Simics, and GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) systems.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in aerospace and defense software development, preferably with contributions to planetary or space exploration missions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with safety-critical or embedded systems development.
  • Prior involvement in NASA, JPL, or other space exploration programs is a strong plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
