In this position…

Develop and lead E.V. engineering efforts for Recertification, Refurbishment, and Remanufacture (Re-X) with a dynamic cross functional team challenged to develop and implement high-value service solutions. Lead the development, verification and release of Service Unique Specifications, with the support of EPE/OPD. Create solutions to improve the customer experience while resolving quality concerns. Strong multitasking skills and engineering flexibility are a must, allowing for the development for new solutions as the company gains experience in the EV arena. Job is hybrid, with three days a week on-site at FEL in Dearborn. Occasional supplier visits (mostly local) will also be required.

What you'll do…

  • Lead development, revision and releasing of Re-X EV engineering specifications in WERS, including related End of Line and PV tests, with the support of EPE/OPD
  • Support the Launch BEV EV Recertification Programs, including eMotor, high-voltage battery, ISC, etc.
  • Access global quality documents (GCQIS/AWS) to obtain and assess service history of EV components
  • Develop and lead inclusion of Engineering requirements (Re-X ESOW & SBOM) in the Re-X Purchasing Request for Quote (RFQ) process
  • Lead development of Re-X Core classifications for re-use
  • Contribute to the development of Business cases
  • Provide engineering support / solutions for Service Parts Warranty (SPW), Core disposition, Material Cost Savings, Total Value Management (TVM), and Complexity Reduction initiatives
  • Manage components, and component release, via WERS, PCR, CMMS etc. as necessary
  • Develop an understanding of calibration software and its impact upon Re-X projects
  • Coordinate with Product Development Engineering & Category Project Manager to develop Reman BOMs, service BOMs and change logs for EV unique components across BEV/FHEV/PHEV vehicle applications
  • Provide technical assistance / additional support as needed.

You'll have...

Minimum

  • BS Engineering- Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or strongly related discipline
  • 5+ Years of engineering and/or service component experience
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills to manage multiple complex projects and deliver superior results on a timely basis.
  • Strong written & verbal skills to prepare, present, and communicate project progress and results on a regular basis.
  • Technical understanding of Electric Vehicle Systems (HV Battery, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, MS Project and SharePoint.

Even better, if you have …

Preferred

  • 2+ years of remanufacturing experience preferred
  • Exposure to systems calibration at the vehicle level, preferred CANalyzer and FORD DET tool experience
  • Experience with releasing parts in Ford’s WERS, GCQIS and AWS Systems
  • Service or warranty experience preferred
